The experts in boutique travel To Peru and South America

Lima Boutique Hotel Review: Atemporal

December 14, 2023 by Anabel

Earlier this year, Atemporal was named on Conde Nast’s 2017 Hot List of the best new hotels around the world. Notably, it was the only South American hotel to earn this distinction.

Always in search of extraordinary properties for our clients, we went to see Atemporal for ourselves. We came away thoroughly delighted with the hotel. We especially loved its seamlessly executed presentation of urban cool and ultra personalized service ethic. We also brought back some gorgeous photos to share with you.

For savvy travelers with a taste for design and unique accommodation, Atemporal Hotel in Lima might become a home away from home.

This property is housed in a revamped 1940s mansion in an upscale part of Miraflores. It was designed by the same award-winning team behind the lovely Hotel B in Barranco and Hotel Titilaka in Puno.

From the walled gardens and comfortable veranda to the art-filled living room and fully stocked “honor bar”, the feeling of having arrived at a cozy refuge shines through. Guests have access to 24-hour self-service coffee and tea. At the complimentary evening cocktail hour, you can pick from beer, wine, and juice. The idea is create an atmosphere where guests feel free to unplug after a busy day of sightseeing or a hectic day of travel.

Lima Tours:

Atemporal has just 9 guest rooms. Each is decorated with contemporary and classic artworks from across Peru. Five rooms have Queen beds. Four rooms have King beds. (These last can be converted into two Twin beds.)

Inside each room, no modern comfort is spared. You will find blackout curtains, ergonomic beds, sumptuous cotton bedding, fluffy pillows, air conditioning, smart HDTV, and night tables with reading lights. The three larger rooms also include a sitting area with two armchairs, small table, and sofa or chaise lounge. Bathrooms are fully stocked with toiletries.

We at Incas Expert are always on the lookout for hotels that strive to be the highlight of your trip. Atemporal excels in this effort with delightful touches that go above and beyond. We’ll share three examples:

First, most hotels are happy to set you up with a taxi. Atemporal provides a MINI Cooper with chauffeur to zip guests around the neighborhood.

Second, cable TV comes as standard service at most hotels, right? But Atemporal understands that these days, many people prefer to stream series or movies instead of watching TV programs. That’s why they offer free Netflix, so you can watch what you want when you want.

Lastly, like the majority of Lima hotels, Atemporal provides complimentary WiFi throughout the house to keep you connected. But, again catering to the modern traveler, they also provide a mobile hotspot that you can take along with you for WiFi access while you’re out exploring the city. How great is that?

This small hotel is not for everybody. There is no spa or swimming pool or fitness room, for example. (If these are deal breakers for you, don’t worry, there are plenty of great alternatives in Lima including the Belmond Miraflores Park.) But if you seek to experience Lima like a local while staying in an architectural gem of a property that spoils you with thoughtful comforts, then Atemporal could be be an excellent addition to your trip to Peru.
